The Wharfedale Super Linton represents a significant evolution in the renowned Heritage series, building on the legacy of one of Britain's best-selling speakers. This updated model features a host of enhancements designed to elevate its performance and aesthetic appeal.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Super Linton boasts a cabinet that is 4 cm taller than its predecessor, increasing internal volume for improved acoustic performance. The cabinet construction utilizes dual layers of fiberboard bonded with latex-based damping glue, enhancing resonance control and sound clarity.
At the heart of the Super Linton are upgraded drivers that contribute to its exceptional sound quality. The 25mm dome tweeter, derived from the higher-end Dovedale model, features a damping-coated fine fabric weave that enhances dispersion and smooths the transition to the upper midrange. The 13.5cm Kevlar cone midrange driver is housed in a dedicated cylindrical chamber optimized with long-hair fibers to absorb back wave energy, while the 20cm Kevlar-cone woofer benefits from a more powerful motor system, extending bass response down to 32Hz while providing superior control.
The speaker employs an all-new crossover network split across two circuit boards, minimizing electromagnetic interference and optimizing signal clarity across frequencies. With an impressive frequency response range of 39Hz to 20kHz and a sensitivity rating of 90dB, the Super Linton is suitable for a variety of listening environments.
