At the heart of its digital section lies the high-performance 32-bit/384kHz ESS Sabre DAC, known for its ultra-low noise, minimal distortion, and wide dynamic range. This premium DAC elevates the playback of digital sources, providing musicality, clarity, and precise soundstaging for a rich listening experience.
The C 399 is the first model to feature NAD's MDC2 technology, an innovative, future-proof system that allows for the addition of optional modules. The MDC2 BluOS-D module, for example, enables BluOS multi-room streaming, Dirac Live room correction, and two-way communication. With Dirac Live, users can fine-tune room acoustics for enhanced bass clarity and imaging accuracy, dramatically refining sound quality.
The C 399 offers a range of connectivity options, including an HDMI-eARC input, two optical and two coaxial digital inputs, and dual line-level analogue inputs with low-noise buffer amplifiers. It also features a low-noise MM phono stage with infrasonic filtering, two-way aptX HD Bluetooth for streaming and headphone output, dual subwoofer outputs, and a dedicated headphone amplifier capable of driving high-impedance headphones.
