Our Take
The original Kanto YU6 has always been one of our favourite recommendations for anyone wanting a proper stereo listening experience without the hassle of separate amplifiers and complicated wiring.
With the new Kanto YU6 G2, Kanto has taken what made the original so popular and introduced some meaningful upgrades, bringing more power, improved driver technology and even greater versatility.
While the smaller YU4 G2 is excellent for desktop setups and compact spaces, the YU6 G2 takes things a step further. Its larger 5.25-inch woofers and upgraded 130W RMS amplification make it a more suitable choice for those who enjoy a fuller sound with greater bass presence, especially in bedrooms and living rooms.
What we particularly appreciate is how the YU6 G2 manages to offer a proper HiFi experience without making things complicated. Connect your turntable, TV, computer or stream music wirelessly, and you're ready to enjoy your favourite music without needing additional equipment.
The new abaca paper cone woofers, refined DSP tuning and improved subwoofer integration are thoughtful upgrades that make this second-generation model even more appealing.
Our take? The YU6 G2 strikes a great balance between performance, convenience and everyday practicality. It's a speaker we'd happily recommend to someone looking for their first serious stereo system, or even an experienced listener wanting something simpler for a second listening space.
If you love the convenience of powered speakers but don't want to compromise on having a fuller, more engaging listening experience, the YU6 G2 is definitely worth considering.
Sometimes, a great HiFi system is simply a good pair of speakers and your favourite music. The Kanto YU6 G2 makes that possible.
