"I just got "done" with a nice audiophile stereo- over $25K invested. I am a vinyl fan, but wanted a "taste" of how a DAC might improve my mid- budget 15 yr. old CD player. My experienve is that unless you pay a LOT of money for an "audiophile" grade CD player, they sound too "digital" with a bit of fatigueing shrillness and lack of resonance in the bass. I bought this, and thought it sounded excellent. I figured if this DAC sounds this good, the highly praised Cambridge Audio DacMagic DAC (~RM1,000) MUST sound even better! So I returned the Fosi and ordered the DacMagic. It is no better than the internal DAC in my 15 yr. old Sony CD player. I immediately returned the Cambridge and REORDERED the Fosi. MUCH more of a non- fatigueing, analog like sound. If you are not ready (or can't yet) spend the bigger bucks for a high end DAC, this is an amazing piece at a great price.
