Our take
" I been an audiophile for many many years and a pro home theater installer as well, i have heard many high end speakers and very expensive speakers through the years, and let me just say this JBL are one of the best i ever heard, the sound quality is very neutral and never fatigue, everything sound good with these speakers its just unbelievable the soundstage this little boys present in my room, i can't even say right now what speakers in the market can outperform this speakers, i'm using them along with the 520 center channel and for movies they are phenomenal, i don't see anything even in the price range of 2,000$ dollars that sounds better than this JBL, yes they are that good, they have big cinematic sound with great dynamics and impact, i don't have enough words to describe how good this bookshelf's are. i want to congratulate JBL for this great product, don't be fooled by the horn this are the best horn speakers i ever heard." - Stharling on Amazon

JBL Studio 530: Sound quality
The XX always provide an expansive, roomy soundstage, and latest track Angels is given detail and space aplenty. Voices have texture and detail, wile the reverb-laden guitar notes sound dynamic yet precise.
Play something more upbeat and while the midrange remains sweet, the livelier character that really defines the 530s comes to the fore. There's plenty of weight and power (provided they're not too close to the wall they shouldn't be overbearing) and even when pushed, in terms of both dexterity of notes and sheer volume the JBLs keep control.
Hans Zimmer's soundtrack for The Dark Knight Rises is a predictably stern test of dynamics and flexibility. The JBLs pass this test admirably, throwing in an extra dose of excitement and immersion thanks to impressive detail.

The heavy-duty magnet assemblies with Symmetrical Field Geometry (SFG) technology and delivers clean, powerful bass response at all listening levels. The one-piece Teonex® diaphragm/surround with 1" voice coil produces a significantly lower distortion and greater dynamic range than conventional midrange and HF drivers. This feature vastly improves realism and clarity, espeically at lower output levels.
Glass-filled ABS Bi-Radial High-Frequency Horn
The glass- filled ABS Bi-Radial High-Frequency Horn is controlled directivity at ear level of seated listeners minimizes unwanted HF interaction with walls and furniture with cleaner, more realistic HF sound over a wider listening area.
3/4" (19mm) MDF Enclosure
