The SourcePoint 10 features a custom-designed 10-inch concentric driver developed by Andrew Jones over 18 months of research and development. This innovative driver delivers remarkable clarity and impactful bass. With nearly 2.5 times the surface area of a typical 6.5-inch driver, the 10-inch paper-pulp cone barely needs to move to produce dynamic sound. This design helps maintain a consistent waveguide around the tweeter, resulting in coherent sound with minimal distortion, without sacrificing bass performance.
At the center of the bass driver is a 1.25-inch soft dome tweeter with a wide-roll surround and a large diameter voice coil. The tweeter offers excellent power handling and minimal thermal compression, allowing it to crossover at 1.6kHz and deliver smooth, detailed sound beyond 30kHz. Together, the two drivers create a seamless, powerful audio experience.
Product Details
The cabinet construction of the SourcePoint 10 is designed for clarity, using thick MDF panels and extensive internal bracing to prevent resonance. The 1-inch thick MDF top, bottom, and sides are wrapped in real wood veneer, while the 2-inch thick multi-faceted front baffle minimizes diffraction and enhances sound quality. The cabinet is further strengthened by internal bracing connecting the top, sides, and bottom.
With 91dB sensitivity and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, the SourcePoint 10 is easy to drive with amplifiers rated as low as 30 watts, making it compatible with both tube and solid-state amplifiers. The speaker’s magnetic grills are easy to attach and remove, allowing for discreet casual listening or maximum performance when removed.
Available in Satin Walnut and Satin Black Ash, the SourcePoint 10 combines modern and classic styles with real wood veneers, adding a touch of elegance to any listening room. The book-matched grain patterns across both speakers create a mirror-image look, ensuring these speakers are as visually appealing as they are sonically impressive.
